TRACC - Road Techniques Adapted to Climate Change

Develop and disseminate knowledge about road construction techniques adapted to climate change in the SUDOE area. The aim is to learn about, test, compare and develop the different sustainable road construction techniques used in the three countries participating in the project.

To achieve this objective, TRACC will start, in the first phase of the project, by studying and analysing what is currently being done in terms of road construction techniques adapted to climate change in the SUDOE area, from a technical, environmental and economic point of view. In a second phase, a series of experimental works already carried out will be analysed and new ones will be put into practice in order to obtain an initial assessment of the results achieved.

These results will enable a series of formulation or feasibility studies to be carried out, as well as studies of the socio-economic and environmental impact of the recurrent use of road construction techniques adapted to climate change throughout the SUDOE area.

Finally, thanks to the conclusions drawn from the previous phases of the project, a guide will be drawn up to help decision-making on environmentally friendly techniques and products for road management bodies. The expected result is that those making decisions on road works in the SUDOE area will increasingly take into account the standards of sustainable development in their sector.
