The BASEPOINT project aims to validate the performance of a new power-take-off module philosophy for wave energy devices.
The module consists of a turbine developed within the context of the "Symphony" device by the Dutch company Teamwork Technology, a partner in the BASEPOINT project. In addition to validating the turbine's characteristics, the behavior of the electrical components will be validated and control will be optimized for different operating regimes.
The project also includes the design of a pod for the conversion module, for integration into a submerged device. The project is seen as the first step towards the development and implementation of the "Symphony" technology in partnership with the Netherlands in Portugal.
The BASEPOINT project is a collaboration between the company in2sea, Mecwide and Sines Tecnopolo and is co-financed by the Fundo Azul program.
